Are there private labs where I can get my own VOC/SVOC water tests?

Yes there are, though because they are private, generally for-profit companies we can not recommend specific labs and they will likely have variable costs, sample processing times, and lists of services. Typical costs range from $100-$200 for a VOC test and ~$250 to add SVOCs.  We highly recommend making sure your lab will at least test for VOC’s that are associated with wildfires, as seen HERE.  Testing for SVOC’s is also an option, but the experts we have talked with generally are more focused on looking for VOC’s first. It is notable that the county testing results, from our current understanding, do not include analysis of SVOCs, which are generally less soluble in water, but also can pose health risks. The county has posted this recommended list of  EPA certified laboratories. Most of these laboratories are based on the mainland and it is not clear as to if all of them offer VOC or SVOC testing services.
